Aanya's grandfather made filter coffee every morning of his life. The recipe comes from the ratio he used: three-quarter decoction, one-quarter cream, jaggery. We translated that to cake.
Will it keep my child awake?
Not really. The caffeine in a slice is roughly a sip of decoction. For very young kids we still suggest vanilla bean.
Is this espresso flavoured?
No. It's distinct from espresso cakes. It tastes like the coffee you grew up with in Chennai.
