How much does a sangeet cake cost in Chennai?
Our pricing follows a transparent formula based on size, flavour, and design complexity. See our pricing page for the full breakdown. We share the exact quote on the callback after we lock the design.
How many days in advance should I order a sangeet cake?
As early as you can. We cap orders at 300 cakes per month so we can give each one our full attention, and popular weekends fill out fastest. Festival weeks book out 2-3 weeks ahead.
Is 1 kg enough for 20 people?
1 kg comfortably serves 10-12 people. For 20 guests we usually recommend 2 kg, or 1.5 kg if the cake is one of several desserts.
Do you deliver across Chennai?
Yes. Our delivery partners cover a wide radius, up to 150 km from our kitchen. Same-day across central Chennai for orders placed before 11am; next-day everywhere else within the radius.
Are eggless options available?
Yes, on request. We make eggless cakes on a separate line out of respect for tradition. Pure-vegan (dairy-free) needs 24 hours of extra notice.
Can I see a draft of the design before I pay?
Yes. Once you share your brief on WhatsApp, a cake artist sketches one or two directions within 24 hours. You approve, then we ask for payment. No payment before design lock.

We ordered a pastel candy theme cake for our daughter’s birthday from Platestory, Shenoy Nagar. We visited the shop in person, shared a reference picture, and clearly explained every requirement. We specifically said we didn’t want fondant decorations and asked for alternatives. The team assured us that using real edible items would look better and agreed to all our specifications, including pastel colors, small donuts, light-colored waffle cones, and matching cupcakes/macarons. Based on their confidence, we paid a ₹7,000 advance out of the total ₹10,500. At 8 AM on the event day, they sent us the cake photo, and it was nothing like what we had discussed. The donuts were regular-sized and dark, the waffle cones and ice cream decorations were dark, the cupcake on top had a dark brown liner, and even the name and age toppers were placed incorrectly. The entire pastel theme was lost. When I called, they finally admitted at 10 AM that the reference design couldn’t be achieved without fondant. This should have been communicated before accepting our order and advance payment, not one hour before our function. We trusted their professional advice, and they failed to set the right expectations. With no time left, we were forced to agree to fondant modifications, even though we had refused fondant from the beginning. They also insisted on receiving the remaining payment before dispatching the cake. The final cake had obvious last-minute patchwork and looked rushed. This was the centerpiece of our daughter’s birthday celebration, and it was extremely disappointing. My issue is not that the cake wasn’t an exact copy of the reference picture—it’s that they accepted requirements they couldn’t deliver and informed us of the limitations only at the last minute, leaving us with no choice. I’m attaching the reference image, the cake photo sent at 8 AM, the final delivered cake, and photos showing the patchwork.
