The formula
Every Platestory cake price is built from two parts.
Cake price = (weight in kg × flavour rate per kg) + customisation charge
Flavour rates sit between ₹1,100 and ₹2,500 per kilogram, depending on the flavour you choose. Customisation charges scale with tier count and design complexity. The numbers below tell you what 90% of orders look like.

*Typical total is at the minimum cake weight, calculated end to end. Floor of each band uses our gentlest flavour (around ₹1,100 per kg); ceiling uses a premium or imported flavour (around ₹2,500 per kg). Heavier cakes or extreme briefs (large sugar-flower arrangements, multi-character sculpting, edible gold leaf, photoreal portraits) adjust upward. Delivery, setup assistance, and GST are extra: see below.
The lower end of each customisation band is a clean buttercream finish with simple decoration. The upper end is fondant work, sculpted shapes, hand-painted detail, or photo illustration. We tell you the exact figure before you commit.
Ingredient add-ons
These are per-kilogram swaps with predictable, deterministic costs.

Maida, wheat, refined sugar, and our standard colour palette are included at no extra charge.
Dummy tiers
If you want the height of a tiered cake without the weight, ask about dummy tiers. We build one or more tiers in food-grade styrofoam and finish them identically to a live tier. You pay the cake-weight portion only for the live tiers, plus a flat dummy-construction charge we quote with your brief. The total is typically less than the equivalent cake weight would cost.
Useful when:
- You want a tall cake for the photographs but a smaller crowd.
- The venue centrepiece needs visual presence; the cake will be cut and served from kitchen-sliced sheet cakes.
- You want a budget closer to a 2-tier but the look of a 3-tier.
