Wedding cake in Hyderabad: a planner's guide

Tasting timeline, design conversations, venue setup, what changes for a 200-guest reception.

Quick answer

Plan six weeks ahead. Budget ₹9,500 for a 3-tier 60-guest cake, ₹13,000 for 100, ₹19,000+ for 200. Two tasting rounds, two design iterations, on-site assembly by our team. Most Hyderabadi weddings split the cake into half-egg / half-eggless tiers.

Hyderabad weddings have specifics. Our most common venues are around Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills clubs, and the wedding banquets along Tank Bund. Each has its own delivery quirks.

For Jubilee Hills venues (Banyan Tree, The Plaza, smaller home venues on Road 36), we deliver morning-of and assemble on-site. The team carries a small repair kit — extra buttercream, piping bags, replacement flowers, a small fondant patch. Setup takes 45 minutes.

For Banjara Hills club venues, we coordinate with the banquet team a day before. Most clubs have a chilled display area for the cake — we use it.

For outdoor venues (popular in winter), bring a small canopy or shaded area for the cake. October to February the sun is mild enough; March onward we strongly recommend indoor display until the cutting.

The egg/eggless split is standard. The bottom tier (cutting tier, in the photographs) is usually egg-based vanilla bean. The middle and top tiers are eggless flavours that suit the guest list (rose pistachio is common in North Indian weddings, qubani in Hyderabadi Muslim weddings, tender coconut in South Indian weddings).

Guest count math. A 100-guest reception needs a 6 kg cake (one slice per guest, plus 10% buffer). A 200-guest reception needs 12 kg, usually split into a 4-tier display cake and a 6 kg sheet kept in the kitchen for actual serving.

Flowers: fresh florals are safe with a 24-hour notice. We coordinate with your florist or source ourselves from the Jubilee Hills floral suppliers.
